  • 4 oz Cool Whip
  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Make the apple pie filling: In a large bowl, toss the diced apples with lemon juice, brown sugar, and cinnamon until evenly coated.
  2. Heat a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the apple mixture and a splash of water. Stir and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for about 10 minutes, until apples are soft.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together a few tablespoons of the pan liquid and the cornstarch until smooth.
  5. Pour the cornstarch mixture back into the pan. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and turns glossy.
  6. Remove from heat and let the apple filling cool completely.
  7. Make the cream cheese layer: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
  8. Add the Cool Whip, confectioners’ sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until fluffy and well blended.
  9. Assemble the dip: Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly into your serving dish.
  10. Spoon the cooled apple pie filling over the cream cheese layer.
