- 1–2 medium fresh apples (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Gala), peeled and sliced
- 3/4–1 cup plain or vanilla Greek yogurt
- 1–2 teaspoons honey (or maple syrup)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 cup rolled oats or granola
- 1–2 tablespoons chopped nuts (pecans, walnuts, or almonds)
- 1 teaspoon butter or coconut oil
- pinch of salt
- optional toppings: dates, chia seeds, almond butter
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt the butter or coconut oil.
- Add the sliced apples and a pinch of salt and cook for 1–2 minutes.
- Sprinkle in the cinnamon and nutmeg and drizzle with honey or maple syrup.
- Stir occasionally and cook for 8–10 minutes until apples are tender but still hold their shape.
- Remove the pan from heat and let the stewed apples cool slightly.
- Spoon the Greek yogurt into a serving bowl and smooth the top.
- Top the yogurt with the warm stewed apples, allowing any syrup to drizzle around the edges.
- Sprinkle the oats or granola and chopped nuts over the apples.
- Drizzle additional honey or maple syrup if desired.
- Add any optional toppings such as dates, chia seeds, or almond butter.
