- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup crushed candy canes
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients while mixing on low speed. Scrape down the bowl as needed.
- Gently fold in mini chocolate chips and crushed candy canes.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions onto prepared baking sheets about two inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are set but centers remain soft. Cool on baking sheets for five minutes before transferring to wire racks.
