Description
Crispy Scallion Ginger Salmon is a flavorful dish that combines tender salmon with a savory marinade and crispy scallions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 salmon fillets (skin-on)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
- 3–4 scallions, finely sliced (green parts only)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Lime wedges, for serving
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, grated ginger, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Remove the salmon from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the hot skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes without moving, until the skin is crispy.
- Carefully flip the salmon fillets and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through, flaky, and opaque.
- In the last minute of cooking, sprinkle the sliced scallions over the fish, allowing them to soften slightly and impart flavor.
- Remove the salmon from the skillet and serve warm with lime wedges and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro, if desired.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of honey for desired sweetness.
- Use tamari to make the dish gluten-free.
