Description

Crispy Scallion Ginger Salmon is a flavorful dish that combines tender salmon with a savory marinade and crispy scallions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (skin-on)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 34 scallions, finely sliced (green parts only)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Lime wedges, for serving
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, grated ginger, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  2. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Remove the salmon from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the hot skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes without moving, until the skin is crispy.
  5. Carefully flip the salmon fillets and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through, flaky, and opaque.
  6. In the last minute of cooking, sprinkle the sliced scallions over the fish, allowing them to soften slightly and impart flavor.
  7. Remove the salmon from the skillet and serve warm with lime wedges and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro, if desired.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of honey for desired sweetness.
  • Use tamari to make the dish gluten-free.
