Description

Juicy Orange Chocolate Christmas Truffles – A Festive, Flavorful Treat

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup fresh orange juice
  • Zest of one orange
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups crushed graham crackers or cookie crumbs
  • 8 oz dark or milk chocolate (or a combination of both)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil or coconut oil (optional, for a smoother finish)
  • Cocoa powder
  • Crushed nuts (such as pistachios or almonds)
  • Holiday sprinkles
  • Shredded coconut

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the powdered sugar, orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth. Add the softened butter and crushed graham cracker crumbs and mix until fully combined. The texture should be firm enough to shape into small balls.
  2. Use a small spoon or melon baller to scoop out small portions of the filling and roll them into balls. Place the balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes until firm.
  3. Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a double boiler or microwave, stirring every 20-30 seconds until smooth. If the chocolate is too thick, add a tablespoon of vegetable oil or coconut oil to thin it out.
  4. Once the filling is firm, dip each truffle into the melted chocolate using a fork or toothpick. Coat the truffles completely and return them to the parchment paper. Optionally, roll them in cocoa powder, crushed nuts, or sprinkles for extra decoration.
  5. Return the truffles to the fridge for at least 30 minutes or until the chocolate is set and firm.
