Ingredients

  • 1 chamomile tea bag or 1 tablespoon loose-leaf chamomile
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried culinary lavender
  • 1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy such as almond, oat, or coconut)
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring 1 cup of water to a gentle boil in a small saucepan to prepare for the tea infusion.
  2. Remove the saucepan from heat, add the chamomile tea bag and 1/2 teaspoon dried culinary lavender. Allow to steep for 5 to 7 minutes to extract the flavors.
  3. Strain the brewed tea to remove tea bag and lavender, discarding the solids to achieve a clear infusion.
  4. Warm 1/2 cup of your preferred milk separately until heated through and optionally froth it for texture.
  5. Stir 1 teaspoon of honey or maple syrup and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract into the brewed tea to add sweetness and aroma.
