Description

These Milo oat biscuits are chewy, crunchy, and packed with nostalgic malted chocolate flavor. Perfect with a cup of tea or coffee, they’re simple to make and always a crowd favorite.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • ¾ cup desiccated coconut
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup Milo powder
  • 125 grams butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons golden syrup
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons hot water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 160°C (320°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, oats, coconut, brown sugar, and Milo.
  3. Melt the butter and stir in the golden syrup.
  4. Dissolve baking soda in hot water, then add to the butter mixture. Let it foam up.
  5. Pour wet mixture into dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms.
  6. Roll tablespoons of dough into balls, place on tray, and flatten slightly.
  7. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden.
  8. Cool on tray for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
