Description

This easy Mongolian ground beef noodles recipe is a quick and flavorful dish perfect for busy weeknights. It combines savory ground beef with tender noodles in a delicious Mongolian-inspired sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional, for spice)
  • 8 ounces noodles (such as egg noodles, ramen, or spaghetti)
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. While noodles are cooking, heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, cornstarch, oyster sauce, and sriracha (if using).
  5. Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet with the ground beef. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet. Toss everything together until the noodles are well coated with the sauce and heated through.
  7. Serve the Mongolian ground beef noodles immediately, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • For a spicier dish, add more sriracha or a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables like sliced bell peppers or broccoli florets along with the ground beef.
  • Any type of noodle can be used for this Mongolian ground beef noodle recipe.
