Description
A fun and spooky Mummy Meatloaf Dinner perfect for Halloween parties or a playful family meal. This recipe transforms a classic meatloaf into a creative, kid-friendly dish with cheese strips resembling mummy wrappings and ketchup for eyes.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ pounds Ground Beef (substitute with ground turkey or chicken)
 - ¾ cup Breadcrumbs (substitute with oats for gluten-free)
 - 1 Egg, beaten
 - 1 small Onion, chopped
 - 2 Garlic Cloves, minced
 - ½ cup Ketchup, plus extra for glaze
 - 1 tablespoon Mustard
 - Salt and Pepper, to taste
 - Cheese Slices, for mummy strips (mozzarella recommended)

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
 - In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
 - Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan and shape into a loaf. Smooth the top and cover with aluminum foil.
 - Bake the covered meatloaf for 45 minutes.
 - Remove the foil and arrange cheese slices over the top of the meatloaf in a mummy-like fashion.
 - Return the uncovered meatloaf to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
 - Let the meatloaf rest briefly, then brush extra ketchup over the cheese to create eyes and a mouth for the mummy face.

Notes
- For a juicier meatloaf, chill the mixture for 30 minutes before baking.
 - Do not overmix the meatloaf ingredients to avoid a tough texture.
 - Feel free to add diced bell peppers or grated carrots to the meat mixture.
 - Watch the cheese closely during the final bake to prevent burning.
 - Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
 - Use olive slices for the mummy’s eyes for an extra fun touch.
