Description
These Salisbury Steak Meatballs are juicy, tender, and smothered in a rich mushroom onion gravy. A perfect comfort food dinner idea, easy for weeknights or meal prep. Serve over mashed potatoes, noodles, or rice.

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp oil (for browning)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (for gravy)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 3 tbsp cold water
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
- Shape mixture into meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches wide.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides in batches. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté mushrooms and onions until softened and golden.
- Add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, bring to a simmer.
- In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch with cold water to make a slurry. Add to the simmering broth, stirring until thickened.
- Return meatballs to the pan and simmer for 10–15 minutes until cooked through.
- Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
