- 1 tbsp salt
- 2 russet potatoes, sliced into wedges or half moons
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp dried dill
- 1 tsp salt
- ¼ tsp pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil

- 1 tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp cayenne
- 1 tsp cumin
- 8 romaine lettuce leaves
- ½ medium red onion, sliced
- 1 roma or plum tomato, sliced
- 3 burger buns (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.
- In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup warm water and 1 tbsp salt. Swish to dissolve.
- Add sliced potatoes and more water to cover. Let soak for at least 15 minutes.
- Drain potatoes and pat completely dry with a kitchen towel.
- In the same bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, dried dill, 1 tsp salt, pepper, and 1 tbsp olive oil.
- Add the dry potatoes and toss to coat evenly with spices and oil.
- Spread fries in a single layer on the baking sheet, ensuring they do not touch.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crisp and lightly browned.
- While fries bake, prepare the turkey burgers: In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, sliced scallions, salt, pepper, 1 tsp onion powder, cumin, and cayenne. Mix well.
- Form the mixture into patties.
- Heat a skillet over medium flame for 2-3 minutes. Add oil and heat for 1-2 minutes.
- Add turkey burger patties to the skillet and cook for 7-9 minutes per side, or until cooked through.
- Assemble: Place patties on romaine lettuce leaves. Add sliced red onion and tomato. Serve with the potato wedges.
- Let cool for 30 minutes before refrigerating.
- Store toppings and sauces separately until serving.
Notes
- You can omit onions if you dislike them.
- Pickled or caramelized onions are a good alternative.
- Serve with a salad, rice, or your favorite grain.
- Add toppings like mushrooms, peppers, bacon, pineapple, guacamole, or a fried egg.
- Experiment with your favorite spices and sauces.

- Swap potatoes for sweet potatoes.
- Use frozen fries or tater tots for an easier option.
- For crispier fries, soak them in warm salted water before baking and pat them dry.
- Air frying is a faster method for fries.
- Turkey burgers last up to 4 days in the fridge.
- Freeze uncooked or cooked patties for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge.
- Reheat turkey burgers in the microwave, on the stove, or in the oven.
- Reheat fries in the oven or air fryer for best crispiness; avoid the microwave.
- Store toppings and sauces separately until serving.
- For a low-carb option, use romaine or butter lettuce as wraps. Keep them separate until serving.
