Description

Turkey Meatball Gyros with Tzatziki & Pita is a mouthwatering twist on traditional gyros that combines juicy turkey meatballs, creamy tzatziki sauce, and soft pita bread.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup full-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cucumber, grated and drained
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 4 soft pita breads

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix ground turkey, breadcrumbs, parsley, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until just combined.
  3. Roll the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. While meatballs bake, whisk together Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, dill, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to make tzatziki sauce.
  6. Once meatballs are done, place them in warm pita bread and top with tzatziki sauce before serving.
